University entrance requirements

Beside the German language requirements your university entrance documents ( school leaving certificate + in some cases university documents) are important. on the webpage of the  Kulturministerkonferenz you can find informationif you documents allow you to study in Germany. The final decision will be made by the universities themselves.

If you want to apply, the following documents are necessary:

Bei der Bewerbung müssen Sie folgende Unterlagen einreichen:

  • Qualification for university entrance (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung) from your home country with transcripts. The Department of International Affairs determines whether your qualification for university entrance from your home country also makes you eligible to study at the post-secondary level in Germany.
  • Chinese, Vietnamese and Mongolian applicants must have their documents verified by the Academic Evaluation Center in Peking or Ulan Bator, respectively. The original certificate from the Academic Evaluation Center must be included in the application.
  • Assessment Test (Feststellungsprüfung) from a Preparatory College (Studienkolleg) for business-related studies: For students pursuing a business-related degree, only the W-course at the Preparatory College (concentration in the social sciences and administration) is accepted. The original assessment test certificate from your preparatory course must always be submitted along with the relevant documents from the secondary and post-secondary schools you previously attended in your home country.
  • Assessment Test (Feststellungsprüfung) from a Preparatory College (Studienkolleg) for studies in Social Work or Health Care: To enroll in these programs of study, only “W” or “S” preparatory courses will be accepted (concentrations in the social sciences or humanities, respectively).  The original assessment test certificate from your preparatory course must always be submitted along with the relevant documents from the secondary and post-secondary schools previously attended in your home country.
  • Assessment Test (Feststellungsprüfung) from a Preparatory College (Studienkolleg) for business information technology studies: For students pursuing a business-related degree, only the W-course and t-course at the Preparatory College (concentration in the social sciences and administration) is accepted. The original assessment test certificate from your preparatory course must always be submitted along with the relevant documents from the secondary and post-secondary schools you previously attended in your home country.
